Linda B. Spangrud

President and Owner

Linda B. Spangrud brings over 23 years of grant experience to the company. She recently retired with 34 years in education in the state of Illinois where she served as a teacher, principal, and district administrator. Linda’s last six years were served as the Director of Grants, Planning, and Technology. During her tenure in education she wrote over 540 grants (federal, state, foundations, and corporate) and raised over $182 million, having a 93 percent success rate. Linda has a passion for designing programs that assist her clients in meeting their needs and receiving the grant funding they need to be successful. She specializes in education, day care operation, museums, fine arts, and social services. She holds three degrees: Bachelors of Science in Education and Sociology from University of Iowa; Masters of Arts in Early Childhood with emphasize in Special Education from Northern Illinois University; and a Certification of Advanced Study in Administration and Supervision from National Louis University.

Thomas A. Spangrud

Vice President

Thomas A. Spangrud brings over 37 years of Military and Commercial business experience with Fortune 500 companies to the corporation. During that time he worked in Pricing, Government Finance, Marketing and Business Development and Strategic Planning. He is a graduate of Rockford College with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and is trained in ISO 9000/2000 (Lead Assessor), Capability Maturity Model Integrated(CMMI), and has developed business strategies for emerging markets including marketing new products and business acquisitions.

Adam T. Spangrud

Director of Client Development and Marketing

Adam T. Spangrud is a graduate from the University of Iowa with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management and Business Marketing. He has had marketing and sales experience with such Fortune 500 companies as Pitney Bowes, Inc. and Shire Pharmaceuticals. He is based in the Rocky Mountain area of Denver Colorado.

Blake Huffman


Grant Specialist & Corporate Sponsorship Coordinator

Blake Huffman, is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Arts in Communications, and Pepperdine University with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology. He has extensive experience in the education field, including teaching preparatory courses for the California High School Exit Exam to at-risk youth and teaching English in South Korea. He has worked on numerous construction grants submitted to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee to develop low income housing in rural and urban areas. Blake has consulted on numerous education grants including the Library Services and Technology Act, School Improvement Grant, and Enhancing Education Through Technology. Blake has also worked with a variety of 501 (C) (3) organizations in the fields of Health Care and Education.

Susan Krause

Grant Specialist Consultant

Susan Krause has 32 years experience in not for profit social service administration and grant writing. She is currently the Executive Director of a youth serving organization in northern Illinois. Susan writes and manages about $1.3M in federal, state, local government and foundation grants per year and has consulted on grants with Spangrud and Associates, Inc. specializing in the social service arena and writing from an outcome management perspective.
